The world is
facing the crisis of climate change and demanding action. Companies and
consumers around the world are demanding their products not only be carbon
neutral but have a positive impact on the environment. The life insurance
industry is not immune to this phenomenon.
This presentation will analyse:
• Research that considers the changing habits of consumers and what that means for life insurers.
• The material issues that companies and actuaries must consider if developing green life insurance offerings; and
• The innovative products from around the world that address this issue. This will delve into what these products mean for actuaries regarding pricing and reserving and talk to the professional role that actuaries will have in ensuring the robustness of these products and that they are not simply “greenwashing”.
